Te Rōpū Māori (TRM) is the Māori Students’ Association at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka, representing all tauira Māori alongside the Otago University Students’ Association.
We are the political and advocacy body for tauira Māori as well as your on-campus kainga rua me ō whānau rua hoki.
All registered tauira Māori at Ōtākou automatically become a member of Te Rōpū Māori.

Ko te mokopuna kei waho rā, tēra tō mauri;
Ka whakapiki, ka whakakake
Ka pū te ruha, ha hao te Rangatahi.
Our mission statement
Te Rōpū Māori aims to support and encourage tertiary education for tauira Māori enrolled at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka, foster environments in which tauira Māori thrive, and liaise with the broader Māori community at local, regional and national levels.
Te Rito (the Student Executive) run sporting, academic, cultural, social kaupapa throughout the year to support all aspects of tauira Māori life.
Ngā Rōpū (Divisional Māori Students’ Associations)
