It’s a big move coming to University - a new city, strange faces and a busy new life away from the familiar. While Dunedin student life is exciting and rewarding, a quality home base is a number one priority whilst striving for academic success.
We have been supporting students for decades in their first year of transition to University study. We know all the challenges.
At Carrington, we have a proven recipe for providing the right blend to promote balance between study, social and relaxation in a safe, personalized, caring community where residents’ academic results are consistently stellar.
Carrington residents predominantly achieve ‘high end ‘grades ( B+ or 75% and above). This facilitates entry into various honours programmes and ensures the completion of high quality undergraduate degrees, while a substantial number of ‘A’ grades sees a large group of residents gaining entry into the highly competitive second year professional courses.
There is an inherent expectation of respect for the community in its entirety and knowing the ‘right thing to do’. This builds a strong sense of collegiality and trust to strengthen the experience of living in the College. It has sometimes been referred to as “the Carrington Way”.
The motto for our Coat of Arms is " Neque Sapientiae Neque Fidei Immemores" ( unmindful neither of wisdom nor of faith)
