Information for clients

Completion timeframes for nanoString nCounter Analysis System projects is usually 8 weeks after the all the client's samples are received and pass internal OGBF QC and all consumables are received from nanoString.

Delivery of consumables from nanoString in the United States to OGBF usually takes 4-8 weeks.

OGBF nanoString client process

Initial project enquiry

All clients are required to fill out the online enquiry form on the New Zealand Genomics Ltd (NZGL) website
Contact NZGL with you project enquiry

  • The client will then be assigned a unique project number; please use this number in all correspondence, including iteration of design via nanoString.
  • NZGL then directs the enquiry to Otago Genomics & Bioinformatics Facility (OGBF) to be scoped.
  • OGBF will contact the client if further information is required regarding project.
  • Scoping usually takes 2-3 days.

If the project requires ‘off the shelf’ consumables

  • OGBF will complete the project scope and provide the Service Agreement information to NZGL.
  • The Service Agreement between NZGL and the client is completed; the timeframe for this is dependent on the client and NZGL.
  • NZGL will contact OGBF once the Service Agreement has been completed.
  • OGBF will then order consumables for the project - delivery of consumables to OGBF is usually 4 - 6 weeks.
  • Projects are usually completed at OGBF 8 weeks after all consumables and samples have been received.

If the project requires a ‘custom-made’ product

  • OGBF will provide the appropriate nanoString Codeset Design Form (CDF) to client.
  • The client then liaises directly with nanoString until the client's project criteria are met. The CDF contains a complete set of instructions on how to complete the form and its submission to nanoString
    orders@nanostring.com
  • When the nanoString bioinformatics team completes the custom project design, a Codeset Design Report (CDR) is sent to the client. There may be further iteration of the design until all project criteria met.
  • The client then signs off the project design with nanoString by sending the signed CDR (CDR must be physically signed) including Excel spread-sheet to nanoString
    CDR@nanoString.com
The clients involvement with nanoString is then complete, the timeframe for the iteration with nanoString is dependent on the client and nanoString.
  • The client then sends a copy of the CDR, including both the excel spread-sheet and the signed agreement to OGBF
    genomics@otago.ac.nz
  • When OGBF receive the CDR, NZGL is provided with the information to finalise the Service Agreement between NZGL and the client, finalising of the Service Agreement usually takes 24 hours. Completion of the Service Agreement is dependent on NZGL and the client.
  • NZGL will contact OGBF once the Service Agreement has been completed.
  • OGBF will then order the custom-made consumables - delivery of custom made consumable usually takes between 4 - 8 weeks.
  • Projects are usually completed at OGBF 8 weeks after all consumables and samples have been received.
