Desktop Videoconferencing

Desktop videoconferencing makes it easy for you to participate in videoconferences without needing to go to a purpose-built room or purchase expensive equipment.

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides access to the Scopia Desktop videoconferencing system, hosted by REANNZ Video Conferencing.

Scopia Desktop

Scopia Desktop is free software that works on both Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X using a webcam and Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari). You can install Scopia Desktop on your University of Otago or home computer to videoconference with other people via the REANNZ Video Bridge.

A fast internet connection (e.g. broadband) is required to use Scopia Desktop.

Scopia Desktop installation information

Please contact the ITS Service Desk if you have installation difficulties.
