Katie McEwan is the Chief People Officer at the University of Otago | Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka and leads the University's People and Culture function.
Katie is an experienced executive leader across the public, private and community sectors. Prior to joining the University, she held senior leadership positions at ACC, Whānau Āwhina Plunket and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, where she led significant organisational transformation, culture and capability initiatives, and the development of people strategies that support organisational performance and long-term success.
Katie is passionate about building inclusive, high-performing workplaces where people feel connected to purpose and empowered to succeed. She believes strongly in the transformative power of education and is committed to supporting the University to achieve its aspirations through its people.
Katie feels privileged to contribute to an institution that changes lives through education, research and service.
