    How you will learn

    In our Physics programme, lectures are complemented by workshops and tutorials where you’ll tackle problems with classmates and get support from approachable teaching staff.     Otago’s Physics Department, New Zealand’s first, hosts Te Whai Ao, the Dodd-Walls Centre - a national Centre of Research Excellence for quantum science and optics. Research spans atomic physics to astrophysics, with projects in quantum science, space physics, renewable energy and Antarctic field experiments, and work recognised among the world’s leading physics breakthroughs.

    Students gain hands-on experience designing experiments and using advanced equipment in our workshops, with opportunities to join research labs through summer bursaries and be part of an active student community engaged in science outreach and international collaborations.

    (iii) It is recommended to take both of MATH 202, 203.
    (iv) MATH 203 is a prerequisite for PHSI 336.
