The Centre brings together the University of Otago's strengths in the biological, medical health and biomaterials research to translate basic science into improved health outcomes. We have researchers based in Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington campuses working closely with other tertiary institutions, District Health Boards, and industry.

We have diverse strengths across physical, engineering and biomedical sciences that enable excellence in research. Our Centre has achieved University of Otago Research Theme status which recognises our achievements to date and increasing potential for research leadership in this field.
