Kia ora. I work at Dunstan hospital as a Rural Generalist. My family and I live just outside Alexandra in a big messy field full of dogs, chickens and half finished projects.
I came to rural medicine after years of working in towns and cities through the UK , Australia and New Zealand. I am also an emergency medicine fellow and general practice fellow. I have worked in both General Practice and Rural Hospital Medicine here in Central Otago and it is here that I have found most enjoyment in my job and in medicine.
I have enjoyed being part of the hospital and GP team supervising RMIP students over the last few years. I am really excited to be involved in coordination and teaching of our new rural doctors.
