Kia ora, my name is Rachel and I live in Alexandra with my husband Ben and our two young girls, Emma and Margot. I am a Rural Hospital Generalist working at Dunstan Hospital and also have vocational registration in General Practice. My love and enthusiasm for rural medicine began in 2007 on the pilot RMIP Programme based in Greymouth, under the mentorship of the late Dr Pat Farry. I am excited to now be part of the RMIP Team and share the challenges and rewards of the rural generalist environment with the students.
I also enjoy the outdoors, in particular tramping, mountain biking, running and skiing, and I try to race in adventure races and rogaines when time allows. We are also now enjoying outdoor adventures with our young family.
