Caroline Rowe’s work focuses on risk communication and resilience. She is particularly interested in how risk communication shapes understanding, trust, and engagement with mitigation strategies. Caroline’s work draws on interdisciplinary approaches, incorporating insights from strategic communication, science communication, and disaster risk reduction. Through this work, she aims to contribute to more effective communication of hazard risk, particularly in the context of increasing environmental uncertainty.
Funded by the Natural Hazards Commission, her current research examines how nature-based solutions to climate hazards are framed across policy, media, and public discourse.
Prior to returning to research, Caroline worked in strategic communication and engagement roles in both the public and private sectors. This practical experience continues to inform her research, grounding it in the real-world challenges of communicating hazard risk.
