The Otago University Childcare Association (OUCA) is a community operated Early Childhood Service administered by the Director and an elected Management Committee.
It is financially supported by the University of Otago and therefore staff and students of the University of Otago receive priority placements.
The main source of income is from the Ministry of Education Bulk funding, which includes 20 hours Early Childhood Education (ECE) for all children over 3 years of age, and from parent fees.
It provides a high quality early childhood education for children through the provision of qualified registered teachers and excellent teacher-to-child ratios.
Morning tea, a cooked lunch and afternoon tea are provided at all centres. 20 hours ECE, to a maximum of 6 hours per day is available for all 3 and 4 year olds.
Work and Income subsidies provide financial assistance to families based on income.
