Pārekereke
A kumara seedbed in which the tikanga of its preparation and impending cultivation is steeped in aroha, respect and connecting with wairua of ngā atua Māori. This love, attention and cultural richness attributed to a Pārekereke is a metaphor for our foundations to carry us into the future.

Nau mai haere mai!

Ngā mihi mahana atu ki a koutou katoa.

Te Pārekereke o Te Kī is a bilingual centre, promoting and strengthening Te Reo me ōna Tikanga Māori, providing care and education for children 0 – 5 years in a mixed age group setting.

We have a maximum of around 32 children attending the centre. Our kaiako to child ratios are 1:4 for Pēpi (under two) and 1:8 for Nohinohi (over 2 years). 20 hours ECE childcare subsidy is available.

Portfolios of learning stories are provided for each child and include photos, art work and group experiences that your child is involved in. These are available to be read and taken home at any time.

The curriculum provided for the children is based on Te Whāriki the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum and works alongside Te Whatu Pōkeka as a key document in our assessment practices of our children's learning.
