Simulation Technician
Fil joined the University of Otago, Christchurch Simulation Centre team at the start of 2025.
He has worked as a primary and secondary school teacher since 2000 and completed a Master of Technological Futures in 2024. With a strong background in education and technology, he enjoys supporting the team in delivering high-quality simulation-based medical education.
His role includes programming and operating high-fidelity manikins, providing their voice during scenarios, and managing the Centre’s audio-visual systems for setup, streaming, and recording. He also helps maintain the Centre’s equipment and resources to ensure realistic and effective learning experiences.
Outside of work, Fil enjoys surfing, spearfishing, and riding his Harley.
