Dr Jenni Manuel is a Senior Lecturer with postgraduate teaching responsibilities and active supervisory roles with Masters' and PhD students. She is also a trained IPSRT therapist on clinical trials for mood disorders.

Her research interests include early psychosis, Māori mental health inequity, improving service delivery for people experiencing severe mental illness, psychotherapeutic interventions, and mental health nursing. She is the principle investigator on a study evaluating a peer-led acute service for severe mental illness. Jenni has experience with a variety of research methods but particular expertise in qualitative research.
