Registered nurses can complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (PGDipHealSc) to fulfil the educational requirements for the designation of registered nurse prescriber.
The required papers for this study pathway are listed below. This course of study does not constitute a specialist endorsement for the PGDipHealSc; the qualification can be awarded without an endorsement.
Papers
To enrol in the required papers, you must be a registered nurse and hold a current practising certificate.
- NURS 405 Health Assessment and Advanced Nursing Practice (30 points)
- NURS 416 Nursing – Applied Pharmacology (30 points)
- NURS 427 Long-term Conditions – Pathophysiology and Management (30 points)
- NURS 429 Therapeutics for Advanced Nursing Practice (prerequisites apply) (30 points)
NURS 429 must be the final paper undertaken in the programme of study.
