Strategic Programmes
Digital Learning Environment Programme (DLE)
The Digital Learning Environment programme – Technology for Learner Success is expected to deliver progress across four project streams of activity:
- LMS: The Learning Management System project will ensure a consistent, engaging student and staff experience, through a single, improved LMS with quality standards. The adoption of which will facilitate best practice pedagogies and generation of meaningful data.
- Student Portal: The aim of the Student Portal project is to create a student portal that assists students to intuitively navigate their Otago journey, by providing a coherent, accessible and equitable home to access relevant information, tools and services.
- Learner Insights: The Learner Insights project will empower staff to provide meaningful, timely support that enables student success. To achieve this, we will develop a framework and tools that enhance usefulness of and access to data, thereby allowing staff to continually improve teaching and pastoral care.
- The Curriculum Management System (CMS) project will enhance student and staff decision-making and curriculum lifecycle management across the University.
For further information, visit the DLE programme sharepoint site.
Digital Presence Programme (DPP)
The Digital Presence programme will work towards providing engaging, seamless digital experiences that enable our students and staff to undertake world-leading learning, teaching and research. This programme includes the following projects:
- Web Transformation Phase 1 – Transition: Replacing the content management system running the University website, as the old system neared end of life. This improves site design, performance and security.
- Web Transformation Phase 2 – Transform: Improving the web experience for future students and researchers, and updating the operating model to make it easier to maintain, update and improve the website in future.
- Staff Portal: Developing a staff portal or intranet, a single location for staff to find key information. This improves staff experiences, and simplifies the main website for students. This improves staff experiences, and simplifies the public website for students.
