Professor David Eyers joined the University as a lecturer in computer science in 2011.
His research interests span cybersecurity, artificial intelligence ( AI ), and eResearch. He tries to advance the safe adoption of technology, including through organisations such as the University's Centre for AI and Public Policy, and nationally as a director of the New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI) advisory board.
He is a member of the Appeals Board, Finance and Budget Committee, Health and Safety Committee and observes the Digital Technologies Committee.
