Overview
Introduction to designing software with particular focus on users. Topics include software development life-cycle, requirements engineering, software design fundamentals, secure software design, and UI Design, methods, and tools.
User-Centred Software Design skills are critical for bridging the gap between human needs and technical systems, enabling prolonged technology usage and success. In this paper, students explore software design, focusing on the methods and tools, principles and processes and issues pertinent to User-Centred Software Design. Broadly, this course equips student with theoretical and technical skills necessary to develop systems for end users. Students take these skills forward in developing/implementing high-quality, usable software in subsequent courses.
