This is a full-year project, generally individual, carried out under the supervision of one or more staff members. A list of project proposals is provided, but it is possible to arrange projects of a student's own choice if a staff member is available and willing to act as supervisor.

This paper will enable students to:
  • Explore in detail an area of computer science that is of interest to them
  • Integrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired in their undergraduate degree in a large, independent project
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the specific area of computer science related to their project
  • Demonstrate their ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner
  • Communicate their work clearly to an audience through oral presentation and written reports
