Students who complete the paper will be able to:
- Distinguish between data, data models, database models, databases and database management systems (DBMS) and describe their various functions.
- Translate a high-level database design into an equivalent database schema.
- Design, implement and test code to create databases, populate them with data and query them.
- Understand the differences between different types of DBMS and which type of DBMS is appropriate for a given problem.
- Extract, clean and transform data from various sources and load data into a target database.
