Students who successfully complete the paper will:
- Identify types and sources of new venture capital and understand the various sources of equity
- Understand and explain early-stage financial statements including assessment of financial health and viability
- Undertake the time value of money, estimate cashflows, the cost of capital and apply to project/firm valuations
- Develop skills that can be used to assess different business ventures and determine how changes in input variables can affect the viability of such investments
- Use excel-based functions to analyse business decisions and summarise business data

In Semester 1 2025, the assessment was:
- Assignment 1 - 20% of final mark
- Mid-semester test - 25% of final mark
- Final examination - 55% of final mark.
- Students must achieve at least 50% on the final examination to pass the paper.
The assessment for ENTR211 in Semester 1 2026 will be advised at the beginning of the semester.
