    Learning Outcomes

    Students who successfully complete the paper will:

    • Identify types and sources of new venture capital and understand the various sources of equity
    • Understand and explain early-stage financial statements including assessment of financial health and viability
    • Undertake the time value of money, estimate cashflows, the cost of capital and apply to project/firm valuations
    • Develop skills that can be used to assess different business ventures and determine how changes in input variables can affect the viability of such investments
    • Use excel-based functions to analyse business decisions and summarise business data
    Assessment details

    In Semester 1 2025, the assessment was:

    • Assignment 1 - 20% of final mark
    • Mid-semester test - 25% of final mark
    • Final examination - 55% of final mark.
      • Students must achieve at least 50% on the final examination to pass the paper.

    The assessment for ENTR211 in Semester 1 2026 will be advised at the beginning of the semester.
