Advanced methods and techniques in field- and laboratory-based geoscience research, including research planning, scientific writing and presentation of findings.
Students must have taken GEOL 402 to enrol in this paper. Full-year students starting in the first semester should take the 20-point paper GEOL 401.

Most students taking this paper will be completing a research project at 400-level with an academic supervisor in the Geology Department.
