Overview

Explores contemporary leadership and managerial approaches to the development and implementation of quality, process, and systems improvement which underpin excellent organisations and world-class business performance.

Excellent organisations extend the concepts of traditional operational quality management to incorporate all functions and levels within the organisation. In this way the concept of organisational excellence — the holistic application and implementation of an excellence philosophy — becomes appropriate. Organisational excellence is underpinned by frameworks and quality management concepts that assure effective leadership, clarity of strategic direction, deployment and operational efficiency. Using real world examples, this paper considers the models, frameworks, systems and technology perspectives which enable the development of a cohesive culture of excellence.
