- Understand advanced theoretical and conceptual approaches to media, film and / or communication
- Identify relevant scholarly sources, primary and secondary, for analyzing media, film and / or communication
- Development scholarly knowledge in a specific research area of media, film and /or communication
- Cultivate independent, self-directed research in an area of media, film and / or communication
- Build capacity for the synthesis of theoretical and conceptual approaches to an area of media, film and / or communication via written analysis and an oral presentation
