A supervised project involving research and leading to the production of a research report.
This 40-point paper provides the opportunity to undertake a research project under the supervision of an academic staff member. At the end of the second semester the results of the project are reported in the form of a dissertation. This paper is usually part of a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Science.
Overview
A supervised project involving research and leading to the production of a research report.
The paper will develop your research knowledge and skills, while experiencing what a research career in pharmacology could be like. It is ideal for students considering a Master of Science in pharmacology.
- First, you will learn how to identify, critically analyse and present research published by other pharmacologists.
- You will then design, conduct, critically analyse and report on the findings of your own pharmacological research.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology (or equivalent). This paper is usually part of a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Science. Students should contact the convener prior to enrolment to help arrange a research supervisor and project.
