The paper will be taught over eight weeks, including four modules, each consisting of two 3-hour interactive seminar sessions. See the 'more information' link above for details about lecture topics.
Assessment: Final examination comprises 100% of the final grade; the format is 'open-book', writing three in-depth essays, either by hand or on a computer, based on a research article for each module given to you before the exam.- Textbooks

Students who successfully complete this paper will:
- Acquire deep knowledge and understanding of the physiology of membrane and ion transport in the context of recent research
- Develop high intellectual appreciation of the value of research to generating new knowledge, including critical evaluation, interpretation, deductive reasoning and rigour
- Develop oral and written scientific communication skills
