Students undertake a range of supervised clinical practice in a variety of practice settings. There is a series of supporting lectures providing a foundation for clinical practice including:
- Principles of assessment and management
- Ethics
- Hauora Māori
- Communication and clinical reasoning
- Behavioural science
- Working with other cultures
- Evidence-based practice
There are three additional modules:
- Aquatic Physiotherapy
- Sports medic training
- Self directed learning of common pathologies
- Teaching Arrangements
- This paper is taught on-campus, with students undertaking their clinical at a range of placements within Dunedin.

- Textbooks are not required for this paper.

An evidence-based approach to professional practice where students are introduced to the integration of theory and practice with an emphasis on professional, ethical, cultural and legislative issues.
It comprises of practical UMove and Aquatic Physiotherapy sessions, case study tutorials, large and small group clinical practice, clinical debriefs, components of the Sports Medics course and independent learning.

- Introduce and expose students to physiotherapy skills of assessment and treatment in a variety of clinical practice settings
- Integrate and underpin this clinical experience with the acquisition of knowledge in the fields of communication and clinical reasoning; ethics; cultural diversity and safe practice; evidence-based practice; and behavioural science
- Introduce and expose students to professional issues in the practice of physiotherapy.
