    Enrolments in the Engineering Intermediate programme will not be accepted for 2026.

    Students may still enrol in the relevant papers, with the intention of applying to transfer to the University of Canterbury's engineering programme at 200-level, but there is no guarantee of acceptance.

    Engineering Intermediate was a first-year programme that guaranteed entry into second-year engineering at The University of Canterbury. Canterbury have removed that guarantee, and as a result Otago has paused Engineering Intermediate as an official programme. However, the papers still exist and if students complete the following papers, then they can still apply to enter 200-level engineering at Canterbury in 2027 (but there is no guarantee of acceptance).

    This group of papers is also an excellent first year programme for those wishing to enter several majors in the physical or mathematical sciences at Otago, such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Sustainable Energy.
