Research summary
I am passionate about the role of research in improving clinical practice.
Teaching
I teach medical students, Trainee Interns, SET and non-SET trainees theoretical, clinical and practical surgery. I am also involved in teaching GP Trainees.

I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Southland Teaching Hospital and Southern Cross Hospitals.

My clinical interests are as follows:

  • Primary hip and knee reconstruction
  • Complex hip and knee reconstruction
  • Revision hip and knee reconstruction
  • Periprosthetic fracture management
  • Prosthetic joint infection
  • Sports injuries

Additional details

I have a demonstrable interest in education, teaching and research. I am the co-founder and co-chair of the Southland Audit and Research Day, an annual research event held at Southland Hospital.

I also hold the roles of Clinical Senior Lecturer, University of Otago and am Associate Editor for Hip international.
