PhD candidate
Laila Fatin joined the PhD program in the Department of Economics at the University of Otago in July 2025. She holds a Master’s degree in economics from Ritsumeikan University, Japan, and MSS and BSS degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Professionally, she has been working at the central bank of Bangladesh since 2013.
Her research interests lie in experimental and behavioural economics, development economics, and related fields. Her current research focuses on the intersection of altruistic behaviour and effective giving, using experimental methods.
