What does critical literacy look like in today's classrooms? How do we help young people navigate the power of texts to shape our worlds?

Join Professor Susan Sandretto for an interactive workshop and the launch of the second edition of Planting Seeds: Embedding Critical Literacy into Your Classroom Programme. The newly updated edition introduces an expanded framework of conceptual building blocks for critical literacy, updated research, fresh classroom exemplars, and new case studies exploring GenAI, eco-critical literacy, and information disorder.

Whether you're a primary teacher, secondary teacher, teacher educator, school leader, or postgraduate student, this session will provide practical tools, rich discussion, and fresh ideas for embedding critical literacy across the curriculum.

The workshop will conclude with the book launch and light refreshments.

Come for the learning. Stay for the launch. Leave inspired to plant the seeds of critical literacy in your context.

Books will be available for purchase at the discounted price of $40. You will be invoiced for payment (No cash sales).

Please register no later than 1 November for catering.
