Rebecca Bell is a Senior Research Nurse who joined the UOC O&G Department in 2018 and is involved in multiple gynaeoncology research projects, with experience as a multisite study coordinator both nationally and in Australia.
Rebecca qualified as a Comprehensive Registered Nurse in 1995 having completed a Diploma in Nursing Studies through the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (currently known as ARA). Areas of previous employment include oncology, haemophilia, gastroenterology, general medicine and women’s health.
Within the women’s health service at Christchurch Women’s Hospital, areas of work include the gynaecology ward (medical/surgical), gynaecology assessment unit and the colposcopy/hysteroscopy department. Between 2015 and 2022 Rebecca worked in a senior role as the Gynaecology Nurse Educator responsible for the fundamental education and ongoing training for registered nurses and hospital aides across the gynaecology service.
Through the University of Otago, Rebecca completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences Endorsed in Nursing (Leadership and Management) in 2016 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences with credit Endorsed in Nursing in 2018, as well as two papers in Public Health: PUBH713 Society, Health and Health Promotion and PUBH714 Public Policy and Health Systems (2024).
