Research
Dr Namrata Chand is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Va’a o Tautai – Centre for Pacific Health, University of Otago. Her research explores how connections with coastal and ocean environments shape identity, belonging, and well-being for Pacific diasporic communities in Aotearoa New Zealand and Fiji. Working across environmental science, Pacific studies, and community health, Namrata uses Pacific research frameworks and community-engaged approaches to highlight how environmental relationships sustain cultural identity and community wellbeing across generations.
