Research

Jim is a dual MBChB and BMedSc(Hons) graduate with several years’ experience in the field of cancer epigenomics. He completed his BMedSc(Hons) with the Chatterjee Laboratory in 2018, which involved establishing targeted DNA methylation editing of cell line models in New Zealand using CRISPR-based systems.

Alongside his clinical work as a junior doctor, Jim remains an active member of the Chatterjee Laboratory. His current research involves genomic and epigenomic profiling of clinical prostate cancer samples, with the aim of identifying molecular biomarkers to improve prostate cancer screening, diagnosis, and disease monitoring in New Zealand populations.
