Research
I am a clinically active Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon, Surgical Oncologist and Endoscopist. Since 2012, I have been the Associate Dean at the Southland Hospital Campus; I was promoted to Associate Professor in 2015 and to full Professor in 2023.
My academic interests include basic and clinical research, carcinogenesis, colorectal cancer, molecular and cellular radiation enteropathy, as well as palliative medicine and hospice.
Besides being busy working as a surgeon, my passion is research, teaching and education, as well as volunteering in the South Pacific and working as a ship’s doctor/lecturer in the Pacific, Arctic and Antarctic.
