Research
My research expertise lies at the intersection of academic language development, student equity, and international education within the context of health sciences. I focus particularly on the non-academic dimensions of English for Academic Purposes (EAP), such as communication, social integration, and well-being, and how these factors contribute to student success. Drawing on both qualitative and applied research approaches, I explore how language, identity, and institutional support systems impact the academic experiences of international and refugee-background students. I am also interested in designing and evaluating academic support programs that foster inclusion and resilience, with a view to informing institutional policy and practice in higher education.
