Antimicrobial resistance and genomic epidemiology
Clinical
Clinical microbiology with a focus on antimicrobial resistance surveillance, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and the application of pathogen genomics to support clinical decision making and public health responses.

Research

My research focuses on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and pathogen genomics in clinically important Gram negative bacterial pathogens, particularly Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and members of the Enterobacterales as well as Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Using genomic epidemiology, microbiology, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, I investigate the emergence, transmission, and evolution of drug resistant infections to inform surveillance and public health responses.

My work also aims to strengthen genomic surveillance systems, build research capacity, and promote equity in infectious disease research, particularly in the Pacific and other low resource settings.
