Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) is a foundation year for five of the University of Otago’s health professional programmes, and also an excellent way to begin your degree in biological or biomedical sciences.
Please note: Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) is not the same as Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHealSc).
HSFY study pathways
HSFY counts as the first year of study for five of the Health Sciences professional programmes:

Bachelor of Health Sciences
Some HSFY papers count towards the first year of study for the following majors:
Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science

BSc and BBiomedSc degrees
