Playwright, Screenwriter (Flight of the Conchords), Filmmaker (Saving Grace, Scarfies)

“Allen Hall was more than a training ground for me – it was the steepest learning curve I've had in theatre. It also provided the chance for me to own a theatre. For two blissful years, Allen Hall was our playground – the place where we could initiate projects, experiment with form, play these works to guaranteed audiences, and learn from our mistakes. It also gave me something my cynical side never expected to develop – a passion for theatre. I've seen a few courses around the country. It's my opinion that the Otago University Theatre Studies programme provides the best practical 'on-your-feet' introductory training for theatre in New Zealand.”
