Dr Jody Miller is a Senior Research Fellow with the Department of Human Nutrition whose research focuses on the role of foods and nutrition in promoting digestive health, healthy ageing, and health and wellbeing.

Her work investigates how foods, food structures, and food ingredients influence digestive function, metabolism, nutritional status, and health outcomes, through clinical trials, population nutrition studies, and trans-disciplinary collaborations. Current research includes studies examining the health effects of mānuka honey, ruminant milk, and food structure on digestive and metabolic health, as well as nutrition, digestive health, and healthy ageing in older adults.

Jody is an Associate Investigator with the Riddet Institute and the Centre for Food and Health. The Centre for Food and Health is a cross-campus collaboration hosted by the Department of Human Nutrition (Dunedin) and the Department of Medicine (Christchurch), and brings together researchers from across New Zealand and internationally to advance understanding of how food influences human health through translational research and clinical trials.

Her research generates evidence that informs health policy, supports food innovation, and contributes to improving nutrition and wellbeing in New Zealand and internationally.
