Username and password

Your username must:

  • contain between 4 and 100 characters
  • not contain spaces

Your password must:

  • contain between 6 and 32 characters, including one letter and one number
  • not contain more than 2 identical consecutive characters
  • not contain your username

You may use the following symbols within your password:
! # $ % & ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ?@ [ \ ] _ ` { | } ~

Please note: passwords are case sensitive

Forgotten your password?

If you have forgotten your password, click on the “Forgot your password?” link on the login page. You will be prompted to enter your username and email address. You will be sent an email that will contain a regenerated password. Click on the link in the email and enter the access code provided. You will then be prompted to create a new password.


The following file formats are accepted for attachments:

  • Word (.doc/.docx)
  • Word Perfect (.wpd)
  • Excel (.xls/.xlsx)
  • Rich Text Format (.rtf)
  • Portable Document Format (.pdf)

You have a total of 10 files across all your applications, and each file must not exceed 1.5 Mb.

If you would like to send any other files as part of your application, please contact the department to discuss whether it is appropriate to send as an email attachment or by mail, or an alternative arrangement.  In your covering letter, please list any additional files sent to us as part of your application

The online recruitment system works best with an up-to-date browser. We recommend:

Please note: There are known issues around certain versions of Firefox and downloading/viewing PDF files. If you experience these issues, we would recommend switching to a different browser.

Using a mobile device

You may be able to apply for a position using mobile devices such as iPads and iPhones, however our testing on these has been limited.

Whilst it is possible to complete an application using an iPad (2), documents cannot be easily uploaded to your profile. Other devices have not been tested.

We welcome your feedback, but recommend using one of the platforms noted above.
