International Student Advisers (ISAs) provide ‘home away from home’ for international students. This very special group of caring, compassionate Otago staff members are dedicated to helping you with a wide variety of issues.
Immigration and visa support
The International Office is home to expert visa staff, who provide a one-on-one service to international students seeking visa information.
The International Office’s insurance team is available to assist international students with any insurance questions they may have.

Code of Practice
The University of Otago is a signatory to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 (the Code), which supports the wellbeing of tertiary and international learners enrolled with New Zealand education providers. The Code sets out the requirements that education providers must meet for the wellbeing and safety of their learners.
Otago treats complaints seriously. We encourage students to inform us when issues arise.
