The process followed in developing our survey of health professionals' views of community treatment orders, and the results of that survey, are described in the 2004 paper, “How mental health clinicians view community treatment orders: a national New Zealand survey”, S Romans, J Dawson, R Mullen, A Gibbs, Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, 38, 836-841 (Australia).

Interview protocols

In our interviews concerning various participants' experiences of community treatment orders, several interview protocols were employed. The questions asked varied somewhat depending on the position of the participant, as patient, key worker, responsible clinician, family member, and so on.
