About Us
Mediator
Jennifer Anderson is the University of Otago Mediator and Manager, Facilitation and Mediation. The types of things Jennifer can assist with include: interpersonal challenges between - staff, students or between students and staff e.g. post-graduate supervision. Or it may be a research group, team or department needing a facilitator to help work through communication issues, developing a team charter or clarifying expectations of one another.
Jennifer’s role is centred around supporting individuals and teams to communicate constructively and collaborate effectively. There is no one template for establishing good communication or resolving interpersonal challenges/conflict and Jennifer sees real benefit in working alongside people to find the best solution for their particular circumstances and for those involved.
Contact Jennifer on (03) 479-5679 or email jennifer.anderson@otago.ac.nz. Her office is located in G09 on the ground floor of Scott Shand House. While Jennifer is based in Dunedin, she frequently travels to the University of Otago campuses outside of Dunedin and can do so at short notice, if required. Meet with her when she is visiting your campus or phone/meet with her via zoom to discuss any concerns.

Ethical Behaviour Network
The Ethical Behaviour Network is a group of Otago staff and students who are trained to provide a first point of contact for anyone who has concerns. Those concerns might be about the behaviour of others or they may be about your working or study environment or the college you are living in. The members of the contact network won’t tell you what to do but they will provide a safe place for you to talk through your concerns and they will help you identify options.

Salam and greetings. I'm Yassar. I completed my medical degree last year and currently am a PhD student, based at the New Zealand Brain Research Institute across from the hospital. I have worked with many students (international and local) in the past. If there is anything that concerns you, or you are not sure about, I am more than happy to help. If I cannot help, I will at least make sure to point you to the right person who can :) |
