Dr Daniel Fridberg: Everything I always wanted to know about peace, but was afraid to ask
Everything I always wanted to know about peace, but was afraid to ask: Learnings from my first 10 years in Aotearoa New Zealand
Over the past 25 years, Danny has practised conflict resolution internationally and locally, including dialogue group facilitation, peacebuilding project management and evaluation, mediation, public participation processes and consensus building, research, training, and teaching. In his conflict resolution practice, he emphasises the importance of relationship building and restoration.
Danny strongly believes that resolving conflicts requires long-term thinking, where mutual gains and healthy relationship are key to wellbeing and success. He holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Otago, an MA in Conflict Research, Management and Resolution, and a BA in Psychology, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The lecture is to be held at Araiteuru Marae, 24 Shetland Street, Kaikorai, Dunedin, 7pm-9pm on Monday, 9 September 2024. There is a community meal at the marae prior to the event and everyone is welcome to attend from 5pm.
The lecture is free of charge, but we ask for koha to contribute to the cost of the meal if you plan to attend both.
