French, German and languages panel discussion: From Otago to the world
This year French and German celebrate 150 years since they were introduced to the University of Otago.
A panel of French and German graduates, who have built notable careers on the basis of their languages, will consider the place of European languages in today’s world, in which the humanities appear to be under siege.
Chaired by Marc Doesburg.
Panellists will look both back and forward, reflecting on how their language studies have contributed to the interesting career paths they have followed.
We also invite you to join us for a lunchtime concert of French and German music on Thursday, 18 September.
