Scroll Back: Media, Film and Communication Studies 2001–2026
Media, film and communication economies, technologies, and imaginaries continually transform. In the last 25 years we have seen the rise of the internet and platform economy, corresponding theoretical adjustments to make sense of it all, and dramatic changes in how we teach and what we teach in media, film and communication.
This panel, the first of two, considers how all three areas evolved at Otago. Join us to consider what impacts, problems and tensions the last 25 years of media, film and communication present and intensify.
Our panellists are Associate Professor Brett Nicholls; Dr Michael Daubs, and Dr Yuki Watanabe.
All are welcome and encouraged to participate in the discussion.
This is the first in a series of pop-up events celebrating 25 years of Media, Film and Communication Studies at Otago.
