Flu vaccinations are now available free at Student Health for all University of Otago students based in Dunedin.
For students based in other areas of New Zealand, please contact your department to discuss your options – flu vaccines will not be provided by Student Health.
The flu vaccine is also available from most pharmacies; however, a cost may apply.
The flu is highly contagious and spread by breathing in droplets from the air created by a person with the flu talking, coughing, or sneezing, and contact with surfaces where these droplets land.
Symptoms can include cough, fever/chills, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose/congestion, fatigue, muscle/joint pain and upset stomach.
