Overview
Environmental and biological factors affecting plant performance; breeding technologies and crop improvement; applications of plant molecular biology and genetics in the design of new plants.
This paper is designed for students who are interested in the diverse ways plants shape our lives and environment. The different topics are taught by staff in the Biochemistry and Botany departments who are active in research related to plant biotechnology. This lecture-lab paper emphasises current issues in plant breeding technologies and their applications.
