Overview

Our research will generate novel data regarding Pacific people’s current ART usage, views and experiences of infertility and ART and whether BMI and/or increased adiposity affect ART outcomes.

To our knowledge, this ground-breaking research is the first comprehensive study of Pacific peoples and their experiences of infertility and ART usage in Aotearoa NZ and internationally.

Given the likely unmet needs of Pacific peoples struggling with infertility, we anticipate that this research will be of interest to the wider research community but will also practically be used to influence policy decisions (e.g., BMI-based exclusion criteria) and to produce resources and information for Pacific communities and health providers to improve Pacific peoples access to ART in Aotearoa NZ.

We are seeking Honours or Masters student or a Research Assistant to support this project.

This project is funded by the Health Research Council of New Zealand.
